Natural Stone

Granite and Sensa granite

Granite is a natural material with unique characteristics that are extracted directly from rock. It is highly valued around the world. It is known for its resistance to heat, scratches, and abrasions, making it ideal for all types of work surfaces.

Hot pots can be placed directly on the countertop without damaging the surface. However, it is not recommended to place a glass dish just out of the oven, as the difference in temperature could cause the dish to shatter.

Knives are also unlikely to last if you cut your food directly on granite. A cutting board is still a must to ensure the longevity of your tools!

As a porous stone, a sealant must be applied to ensure a watertight seal. Our team will apply the first coat to your surface before installation. This sealant blocks all pores and prevents grease and dirt from seeping in and staining the surface. However, this sealant does not last forever, and we strongly recommend reapplying a sealer every two years.

Sensa granites are maintenance-free! Cosentino offers a 15-year guarantee against stains, thanks to a revolutionary treatment that is integrated into the stone’s molecular structure. All you need to do is clean your surface with mild soap and water!

Quartzite

Quartzite is a very hard metamorphic rock derived from sandstone. Through a process of high heating and pressurization created by tectonic compression within orogenic belts, sandstone is transformed into quartzite, an extremely strong and durable natural stone. When heated, individual pieces of quartz recrystallize, giving them a beautifully sparkling decorative pattern. Quartzite is perfect for any countertop surface due to its strength and durable properties.

Quartzite countertops offer strength, beauty, and overall durability.

Maintenance

As a porous stone, a sealant is applied to the surface before installation. This sealant blocks all pores and prevents grease and dirt from seeping in and staining the surface.

We recommend reapplying a sealant every two years to ensure the stone retains its watertight seal. A good indicator that the sealant is no longer effective is that water no longer beads up on the surface and is instead absorbed by the stone.

Clean daily with a mild soap designed for this purpose.
