Quartz
Quartz is an engineered stone that is gaining popularity with consumers due to its wide range of colour choices.
It is a synthetic product made up of natural quartz granules and resin (approximately 93% quartz and 7% resin). Colours and patterns are controlled during production at the plant.
Quartz is highly resistant to scratches and does not require sealant, as it is non-porous. It is also antibacterial.
It is not advisable to place hot dishes directly on the surface, as the resin it contains may change colour and leave visible marks.
Maintenance
Quartz is a non-porous product due to the resin it contains, and thus it does not require sealant. Quartz surfaces can be cleaned with mild soap or soapy water. Several water-based products can give your surface a shine. You should never use abrasive products, such as a Magic Eraser or any other product containing abrasive particles, as they can damage the surface.
